Ceramic Art in Ceret

by gordonmichaelsutton

Ceret is a small town in southern France. It’s also a town with strong artistic credentials, not least as the home of the Musee d’Art Moderne.

Ceret was also a favourite haunt of Picasso. It remains a very attractive and unspoilt town with quite an intimate atmosphere. This piece of al fresco¬†ceramic art is tucked away just off the main street and shows various aspects of the town, including it’s 14th century Pont du Diable in the top left.

Great picture – it reminded me of a visit last year to the city of Talavera in Spain which is a city famous for its ceramics – thanks for the memory nudge!

You’re welcome! Think the nearest I’ve been to Talavera is Toledo, although sadly very few photos from that trip (assuming it’s the same Talavera). Had taken a day trip down from Madrid on the train. Bitterly cold April morning on arrival in Toledo but baking hot by the afternoon.
