An awful lot of Peking Duck
Still jet lagged on my first evening in Beijing we’d been entertained at one of the city’s best-known restaurants – Quanjude – established in 1864. And as custom dictates, I had the house speciality – Peking Duck. You get to eat all the duck I should add, although I did politely refuse the feet!
Several days later, I was in a large food retail outlet and here was Beijing’s equivalent to Del Boy. No dodgy gear here, though. She was selling excellent, pre-cooked Peking Duck in sealed bags. And lots of them! She was actually a little cross with me for taking the picture and had started to holler. Jonathan meanwhile was keeping his head down at the front and getting a bargain!
