From Lark Lane to Sefton Park, Liverpool

by gordonmichaelsutton

Dodged the heavy rain on Saturday and drove down to the Farmers’ Market on Lark Lane in Liverpool. Not been before and good to see a decent range of produce for sale. Managed to grab some fresh carrots and beetroot as you can see. Now all I need to do is to Google how to pickle the beetroot.

Also took the opportunity to check out the Palm House in nearby Sefton Park and the statue of Eros for good measure.

The statue is a replica of the one in Piccadilly Circus in London. Apparently, it’s designer, Sir Alfred Gilbert,  preferred the Liverpool Eros because of it’s beautiful setting in Sefton Park and because the jets of water were closer to his original idea. Who knew?
